baltimoresun.com (April 29, 2012) - Advocates and authorities of Baltimore's
ailing harbor waters, in their quest for a cure, are utilizing the Algal Turf
Scrubber® in an experiment at Fells Point to clean the polluted water.
01/2012 |HydroMentia Co-Founder Named Person of the Year
Whitfield M. Palmer, a co-founder of HydroMentia and the driving force behind
the company for many years, was named 2011 Person of the Year by Ocala
Magazine.
Palmer, 82, hasn't let his age slow him down. In addition to serving on
several boards, Palmer is deeply involved in civic projects, including the
Florida Horse Park, a 500 acre world class equestrian facility that will create
jobs and improve quality of life in Marion County. He also helped actor Paul
Newman establish Camp Boggy Creek, a camp for children with life-
threatening diseases and he and fellow University of Florida alumnus Fred
Fisher co-founded Daytop Village - now Phoenix House - and addiction
treatment facility.
